Death at the Edge of the Diamond

<p><em>Death at the Edge of the Diamond</em> is a coming of age novel.  Based on Cape Cod in 1979 the story focuses on Jon Megquire who comes to the Cape to play baseball.  He has a summer job working for a contractor.  He expected to play baseball among higher caliber players.  He expected to be tooling around in his first sports car.  His vision ahead included a couple of months of sports, girls, and goofs with the guys.  And then he could consider seeking an answer to the age-old question, &ldquo;So what are you going to do now?” He did not expect building science and murder. Jon learns that houses are more than just shelters from the wind and weather: they can also be used as weapons.</p>
